About Us
Welcome to deSha’s Cincinnati
Nick and Elmer T. Lee selecting deSha’s first private selection Blanton’s barrel in 1991.
In the summer of 1990, following the success of deSha’s Maysville (a family restaurant named for my father) we opened the doors to deSha’s Cincinnati.
Since then, our mission has been to be a real comfortable, down-home place to get authentic food and drink. A lot has changed in 30 years, but the key things have stayed the same: our dedication to warm hospitality, top-notch tavern fare, and carefully selected beer, wine, and spirits.
More important, at the heart of our real American Tavern is a team of talented and dedicated staff who bring new and returning guests through our doors year after year. We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to where you drink, dine, and celebrate special occasions. Thank you for choosing deSha’s.
Cheers!

We had reservations for 4 Saturday night. We were promptly seated even though our full party had not arrived. The waiter was attentive and brought water immediately for all including expected guests. The restaurant became very busy. Our drink orders were delayed but I think that was because the bar was backed up. There was a large party in their party room. We haven't been there in awhile but the ambiance of the place was first rate. I'm giving 4 stars for the food. Stuffed mushrooms were underwhelming. My dinner companions loved the onion soup. I had the meatloaf. Loved the mashed potatoes, green beans were overcooked and meatloaf okay. Fried chicken was chicken "patties" not a piece of fried chicken. It came with mashed and green beans. Very nice evening in a first class restaurant. I wish I could rave about the food. It was just regular tavern food. - 9/24/2025

In the midst of multiple restaurant choices, we decided on deSha's because it has been many years since we've been there. What a great decision. My club sandwich was one of the best I've had in awhile and spouse got the shrimp lobster roll. Delicious. Great atmosphere. Ditch the chains and head over to deSha's. They also have some great comfort food choices I'm going to try. Kentucky Hot Brown; meatloaf; buttermilk fried chicken!!!! - 7/26/2025

Four of us went for Friday lunch. Service was friendly. We sat outside which was nice. I ordered the Pub fish and chips, sub broccoli. It was huge and great. I ate it all . Others got a burger, veggie quiche, and a salad with chicken. All were reported good. Prices were typical. The only downside was that it took a long time to get the food. It wasn't busy. I would go again with more time. - 4/29/2025

Had a nice visit to Desha's American Tavern. I had the pick two, which was the Caesar salad and French onion soup. The salad and the soup were honestly some of the best that I've ever had. We made reservations and was that as soon as we got there and had a nice quiet table. - 4/22/2025

Good food, good service and live music too! When visiting in Cincinnati recently, we had dinner at deSha’s. It was over St Patrick’s Day weekend and thus was very festive! Our grandson had chosen the restaurant and we were delighted that he did! The menu was varied and the prices were reasonable. Our server, Curtis, was very attentive, knowledgeable and cheerful in his green hat! Our grandson chose the Maker’s Mac and Cheese and ate it all! He has been here before and always likes the food. My husband really enjoyed his Jambalaya! I had the Cranberry Salad with chicken and it was very good! There was live music playing and that was another enjoyable part of the evening! We hope to return to deSha’s Tavern in the future when we visit again. - 3/24/2025

whole experience was so tasty! we came for lunch and started with the cornbread and it was AMAZING! it is a must order and was sooo good. 10/10. we came on ash wednesday so were not eating meat so i tried the choose 2: tomato soup and grilled cheese. grilled cheese was tasty but nothing special 8/10. the tomato soup was so flavorful and delicious. i really liked it! 10/10. i also got a side salad and i thought it was on the better side of caesar salads as well! 9/10. my husband got the salmon and liked it but it was a little overcooked. we probably would try something else next time. 8/10. we will definitely be back and am excited to try more things!!! - 3/06/2025

This may sound like an ad but I'm a real customer who is picky and expects consistent food and good customer service. Long time patron here where I'm now ordering to go dinners for the past year every few months and it is consistently good every time! The staff is always friendly when I pick up, food is fresh, delish and always what I've ordered. The butternut squash salad with salmon is our favorite as is the burger with Swiss and onions. - 2/02/2025

Came here for brunch with about 15 people for our annual Christmas get together. We sat in the Rookwood Room, which was perfect size for us, however there is no ceiling which allows all of the noise from the restaurant to travel into our "private" room. Food is pretty good and wouldn't mind coming back here next year. - 12/10/2024

We had a rehearsal dinner here for 30 people. They gave us a beautiful room in the back of the restaurant. We had a couple servers who did a great job. They started by getting drinks. It was a little slow but getting drinks for 30 people takes time. Then we had a buffet dinner. Pot roast was well seasoned and moist. The chicken piccata was excellent and a favorite of most of the people at my table. Gouda mad and cheese was so creamy and cheesy. It was amazing. Grilled vegetables were excellent and mashed potatoes were fresh and flavorful. The room was nice and secluded and they even had a 60" TV for us to show a video on. Really nice dinner, servers and atmosphere. - 7/08/2024

attended a birthday party last night for about 15 people, and I have to say that deSha's does a really good job, even on busy nights, of handling big parties. It was very nice. At least 3 servers watched over us as they also tended to other tables. Plus the food is reliably good and prices are very fair, and, according to my husband, the Bellhaven (one of few places in the area to have it) is the best. Thank you. - 6/27/2024
